Employees should have autonomy or be micro-managed?   Source: (Ross, No Year) Before we delve into the subject, let us first understand the two terms: Autonomy is when the employees have the freedom to work on their own without any or very little interference from management.   Does Trust Matter At Work Place? Also, does it have a positive Correlation With Motivation and Retention- Absolutely!!! Trust takes years to build, seconds to break and forever to repair (Grossman, 2022). Is this statement true or false? True. Trust is built on being honest, mutual respect, collaboration, being authentic and having empathy. Relationship between Motivation and Employee Retention The success and failure of any organization is dependent on how motivated and satisfied the employees are. It is quite evident in today’s competitive environment that employee retention is crucial for the achievement of organizational goals (Shah and Asad, 2018). Organizations that study their employees’ key motivators and use them for encouragement can enhance job satisfaction.  (Leapsome Team, No Year). Employees can be motivated by financial rewards and non-financial rewards. In the current business context, financial rewards are not enough to satisfy the employees on their jobs. For organizations to motivate and retain employees the organizational culture, compensation, reward, recognition, promotion opportunities, work environment and organizational justice should be present (Shah and Asad, 2018). Businesses should be mindful of Herzberg’s theory of two dimensions of motivation to work. One is referred to as the hygiene fa...
